Jamaica, a resilient Caribbean nation accustomed to weathering storms, has swiftly rebounded in the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl. As of Friday, July 5, 2024, the island's key airports and cruise ports—including Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston, Ian Fleming International Airport in Ocho Rios, and major cruise terminals—are open or scheduled to resume operations. Most hotels, resorts, and local businesses have also resumed normal activities, signaling a robust recovery effort across the tourism sector.

President Nicola Madden-Greig of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) reassured that Jamaica's tourism infrastructure largely escaped severe damage from the hurricane. She highlighted the resilience of the local industry, noting that the majority of hotels emerged unscathed, with no reports of guest injuries during the storm's passage. Madden-Greig expressed particular concern for the south coast communities, such as those in Treasure Beach, St. Elizabeth, where independent hotels and villa operations faced greater impact.

Despite initial challenges, Jamaica's Minister of Tourism, Edmund Bartlett, emphasized that the island is fully operational and eager to welcome visitors. He underscored Jamaica's readiness for tourism, emphasizing that the country is open for business and has already resumed regular operations across its key tourism hubs. Bartlett acknowledged the community support efforts, especially in hard-hit areas like the Grenadines, where recovery and relief initiatives are underway.
